My son is in college and consistently was failing all of these tests even though he was passing homework and projects. After two years of this we decided to do work around it. So we went to age 7/8 when we lived at a camp. He would work around the camp with my husband. My husband would struggle sometimes to figure out how to fix something and would get really upset. My son was really good at fixing things. So he made a transfer agreement for my husband to have his success. This semester, my son has passed all of his tests! He is a junior now and having his easiest semester yet.
